Hello there and happy Monday friends! Today I have something fun to share with you all! You may remember an older heart pillow tutorial I shared here on my blog a few years ago! I’m so excited to say I am updating that fun tutorial with some added information as well as a free downloadable PDF!

I originally made this pillow to accompany a Valentine’s inspired quilt I whipped up for my daughter’s bed. Afterwards I decided to share it on my blog for anyone else who wanted to make one of their own!

This pillow top uses easy to piece instruction and goes together quickly. It’s so fun to make that you might find yourself whipping up two or three of them. So, let’s get started on some of the fine details so you can start making your new pillow top just in time for Valentine’s Day!

This project is the perfect way to dive into your scrap bin! I set a goal to make better use of my scraps this year. Pillows, table runners, and scrappy quilts are all good ways to use your scraps. I used a scrappy assortment of fabrics from our Happy Days collection in my demonstration pictures.
Step 1: Half Square Triangles Step 2: Assemble Heart Blocks Step 3: Lay out Pillow Top
Just a couple more things….
Since we’ll be making half square triangles, one of my favorite quick tips is using the Diagonal Seam Tape created by Allison of Cluck Cluck Sew! Her product works wonders and saves ample time on drawing those pesky lines before being able to sew!
Now all you’ll need is my Heart Pillow PDF download to start making your pillow! You can find the free PDF download just below!
I decided to write up an actual PDF so that you can print and have it on hand. I find that it’s much easier to have something printed out rather than having to refer back to your phone or computer time and time again.
Be sure to check out the YouTube video for this tutorial as well! I go over each step individually so as to give you a visual while working on your pillow top! You can find a link to the YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/lk1kWAOW614

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you will enjoy this fun and update Heart Pillow tutorial!
XOXO,
Chelsi
Hi Chelsi – love that you are blogging more again :)! I really enjoyed your video on this pillow tutorial and especially love that it is made for a standard sized pillow. Thank you also for the PDF for this pattern. I have two quilts on our sofas with your Front Porch fabrics and love how they look. Your pillow is so sweet in these fabrics – love it!
